In a letter filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) today, the FIA Principal Traders Group (FIA PTG) supported the proposed expansion of Regulations ATS and SCI to include Government Securities alternative trading systems (ATSs). The letter also recommended the Commission update the definition of an ATS to include all multilateral Government Securities trading platforms – including Request for Quote (RFQ) platforms, before finalizing the Proposal. FIA PTG said they are supportive of the Proposal’s efforts to increase transparency, access and the resiliency of the Government Securities marketplace and urged the Commission to move forward with finalization and implementation.
