FIA employees are hitting the pavement in London and Washington, D.C. today to raise money for Futures for Kids. The annual Walk to Work has raised more than £220,000 since 2011 to support Futures for Kids' work improving the lives and prospects of children in need around the world.
Futures for Kids' Walk to Work brings together staff from every level across banks, brokerage firms, exchanges, proprietary trading firms, IT vendors, journalists and other industry members. London walkers will walk routes ranging from 9 miles to 30 miles, while Washington staff will cover a 3-mile route around the city's most scenic monuments.
The London team has raised nearly £300 this year and the Washington office has raised nearly $1,000.
The Futures for Kids Walk to Work is just one way in which FIA employees and members give back to the community under the banner of FIA Cares. Throughout the year, conference attendees raise money for Futures for Kids and the Greater Chicago Food Depository through charity golf tournaments and gala dinners. Right now, Kim Taylor, President of Clearing and Post-Trade Services at the CME Group, is working to raise £10,000 through the Kilt Challenge for the 2017 IDX Gala.
