Jack Lehman was associated for many years with the Shearson organization and headed its futures brokerage as it moved through a succession of mergers and acquisitions. He has been a valuable member of the FIA board of directors for 22 years. He served as chairman of the FIA in 1986 and 1988 and in that capacity helped defend the industry’s reputation and regulatory status in the aftermath of the 1987 stock market crash. He began his career as an investment analyst and portfolio manager for Chemical Bank. In 1972, he joined Hayden Stone, where he held several positions before being appointed director of futures n 1982. Among the many industry committees and panels to which he has belonged are the Comex Clearing Association board, the New York Futures Exchange board of director and the Commodity Exchange, Inc. board of directors.
