Mike Dawley, the outgoing chairman of the FIA, is a managing director and the futures product leader within the global clearing and execution business at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York. He joined the firm’s Chicago office in 1985 and moved to New York in 1996. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Dawley worked for E.F. Hutton and traded independently for several years. He also serves as chairman of The Clearing Corporation and as a member of Chicago Mercantile Exchange’s clearinghouse risk committee. Dawley has played a valuable role in the recent history of our industry as an intermediary between the FCM community and the Chicago exchanges as they move through the difficult transition of product-by-product competition in their core interest rate markets.
