Nasdaq is moving its primary data center in Scandinavia to a new location just outside Stockholm. The market operator announced that it will start the transfer in February and go live in June 2016. The new facility is being built for Nasdaq by DigiPlex, a U.K. data center provider, and will provide better services for clients than the existing center in Lunda operated by Verizon, according to Nasdaq officials. The new facility will host Nasdaq’s Scandinavian cash equities markets as well as its fixed income and commodities markets.
All customers currently connected with leased lines or via an extranet provider to the Lunda data center need to establish new connectivity to the DigiPlex data center, Nasdaq IT executives say, warning that customers should contact their network provider as soon as possible to start the transfer process.
