CME Group announced on April 13 that it plans to completely shut down its trading floor at the New York Mercantile Exchange by the end of this year, subject to CFTC review. Futures trading on the Nymex floor ended in July 2015, leaving only options on futures still trading via open outcry. Those contracts will continue to be available for trading on Globex and for submission for clearing through CME ClearPort. CME's Chicago trading floor will remain open for trading of options on futures contracts as well as S&P 500 futures contracts. (view our collection of videos on the subject).
