Giving back is part of FIA’s belief that beyond markets there are communities. Our charitable activities focus on helping communities and the people that create them thrive. FIA supports a variety of charities through our annual conferences and other events and takes part in the charitable activities of our members and the broader cleared derivatives community. Additionally, we profile the charitable efforts of our members in MarketVoice, FIA's flagship publication.

Great Chicago Steak Out
Raises funds for the Greater Chicago Food Depository
Since 2008, the Great Chicago Steak Out has raised over $4.1 dollars for the Greater Chicago Food Depository, a non-profit food distribution and training center that provides food for hungry people while striving to end hunger in the community. It is held each fall during Futures and Options Expo .
IDX Gala
Raises funds for Futures for Kids
Held at the close of the International Derivatives Expo, this IDX Gala is the premier fundraising opportunity for Futures for Kids, a charity created by futures industry leaders to support work of children-focused charities around the globe. During the evening, there is a raffle, plus live and silent auctions to raise funds.
Charity Golf Events
Raises funds for Futures for Kids
FIA wraps up our Boca and Asia conferences each year with a Charity Golf Event. These 18-hole Scramble tourneys raise extra funds for Futures for Kids through raffles and the sale of mulligan cards. A portion of the greens fees also goes directly to the charity.

This charity provides a vehicle through which the listed and cleared derivatives industry can raise money to benefit charities working to improve the lives of children around the world. To date, FFK has raised over £3 million, distributed more than 25 non-profits seeking to enhance the lives of disadvantaged children and young adults. Currently Futures for Kids supports Educaid, Kids in Kathmandu, Leadership through Sports and We See Hope.

Chicago's derivatives community recently reunited for a day of networking and sunshine as the FIA Operations Americas Golf Outing took place for the first time since the pandemic began. And thanks to strong turnout and the generosity of participants, the event raised roughly $30,000 for local charities.

The Greater Chicago Food Depository is Chicago’s food bank — a non-profit food distribution and training center that provides food for hungry people while striving to end hunger in the community. The Food Depository, founded in 1979, makes a daily impact across Cook County with a network of more than 700 pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and other programs that address the root causes of hunger. In 2018, the Food Depository distributed more than 69 million pounds of shelf-stable food, fresh produce, dairy products and meat, the equivalent of 159,000 meals every day.
