The pace of legislative and regulatory change on sustainability both inside and outside the EU continues to accelerate, with global firms including those operating in the US finding themselves navigating increasingly disparate regimes. The EU is undoubtedly setting the pace in this area, with core regulations on a green taxonomy and ESG disclosures continuing to apply on a rolling basis, and a consultation underway on proposals to expand the disclosure regime further. Meanwhile, the UK government's commitments to meet its net zero target by 2050 and position itself at the forefront of green finance have spawned a number of initiatives, in particular the introduction of climate-related financial disclosures applicable to nearly all financial services market participants becoming mandatory by 2025, and the implementation of a green UK taxonomy. The extent to which the UK's regulatory and legislative developments – in particular the green taxonomy – will diverge from the EU's regime remains to be seen. This webinar aims to help US firms navigate the EU regulatory agenda on ESG, and understand where we might see the UK diverge from the EU approach.
This webinar will cover, with a focus on impact to US firms:
