Is your firm prepared for a ransomware attack? Join the Market Technology Division on Tuesday, October 29 for an interactive cybersecurity workshop that takes you through a ransomware scenario that potentially poses systemic risk to the futures markets and participants. Bring your colleagues that would need to collaborate under a dramatic market disruption scenario, including teams that need to communicate, address issues and ensure business continuity on behalf of the clearing house, clearing members and buy-side participants.
Note: This event is open to Market Technology, Operations Americas and Law & Compliance Division members only. Registration for this workshop is separate from Expo 2019.
During this exercise, participants will examine:
Emergency communications between exchanges, clearing houses, FCMs, key service providers and customers;
Operational risks associated at FCMs dealing with a large number of trade breaks, and the daily back-office processing deadline for transactions, leading to potentially delayed regulatory reporting;
Staff and skill sets required to address the impacts of such a disruption;
Appropriate timing and content of messages to clients, counterparties, regulators, etc.;
Reputation management; and,
Escalation path from IT to senior management, incident response teams, regulators, etc.
This cybersecurity workshop is ideal for individuals fulfilling client service, compliance, legal, operations, information security, information technology, risk, trading, treasury and senior management functions.
The workshop wraps up with a post-mortem conference call on Thursday, November 14, to discuss lessons learned and feedback on the event.
