As part of China's ongoing efforts to open up key areas of the onshore financial markets to international investors, regulators in China announced new regulations to combine the separate QFII and RQFII regulatory regimes with a unified Qualified Foreign Investor (QFI) regime. The new regulations, effective 1 November 2020, set out a number of notable changes and may signify a new approach to QFI investment business by both market participants and regulators.
In this webinar, we invite Linklaters to provide an overview of the key changes in the new regulations. In addition to discussing the expanded scope of onshore investment activities and how the new rules may benefit QFIs’ activities outside mainland China, Linklaters will share their views on the impact of the new regulations on businesses and what other changes may be expected to further open the financial markets particularly in the futures and options space.
