The InfoNet MiFID II/R seminar on transparency focused on the final draft regulatory technical standards and the effect of the regulations on market participants and trading venues.
Fabio Braga of the FCA began by giving a presentation on the final draft RTSs and described the high-level changes to the ETD transparency landscape.
Baker & McKenzie’s Farid Anvari, covered the scope and effect of transparency requirements on market participants at a more granular level.
Braga and Anvari were joined by Eurex’s Vassiliki Veliou and FIA’s Corinna Schempp, as moderator, for a panel session where they discussed how transparency requirements may affect member firms, especially in terms of particular issues such as package transactions and systematic internalisers, and how the EU’s approach to transparency compares to the US.
