FIA sets out 'real life scenarios' for European benchmarks regulation

FIA Europe members highlighted their concerns about the impact of the European Commission’s, Council's and Parliament’s proposed Benchmark Regulation on indices used as benchmarks in financial instruments and financial contracts. The main areas of concern are set out in its 'real life scenarios' document illustrating the potential unintended consequences of the proposed regulation. Core areas of included: third country; scope and the definition of a benchmark.
