Generally, FIA events are open to the press. Where an event is open to the media, the rules below apply. The following events have more restrictive press policies: Law & Compliance Division Conference; the Asset Management Derivatives Forum; and FIA Forum: Commodities. Please see the event-specific pages for these for more details.
Reporters must register in advance by requesting registration through fiapr@fia.org.
Reporters must wear their conference name badge for the entire event and identify themselves to attendees during informal conversations.
All sessions listed on the agenda (unless otherwise indicated) are open to the press:
These sessions are on-the-record and speakers and panellists may be identified and quoted.
However, where indicated for closed sessions, reporters should operate under the Chatham House rule which states that participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed. Speakers may, however, be quoted if they give explicit permission for a specific quotation to be used after the session.
Reporters should obtain permission from an attendee before interviewing them at the conference.
Reporters are free to use tape recorders and laptop computers as long as they do not interfere with the proceedings.
Permission to photograph or film onsite at FIA events must be authorised prior to the event.
Members of the press are welcome to join FIA members at evening and social events. However, please note that these events are for networking only and are off-the-record. Any interviews should be conducted separately.
If you have any questions regarding our media policy, please do not hesitate to contact the FIA PR team at fiapr@fia.org.
