FIA Europe is pleased to announce the appointment of Christiane Leuthier as Head of Commodities. Christiane joins today from Barclays Investment Bank, where she was Vice President in the bank’s legal department. She supported the EMEA commodities business in that role, with a particular focus on physical and financial commodities trading (in oil, gas, metals and emissions), regulatory change and documentation.
Prior to joining Barclays, Christiane held a similar position at Société Générale, setting up a legal presence for commodities in London and supporting the commodity and trade finance business for corporate customers. Previous roles included positions within law firms covering similar areas, both in London and Germany.
FIA Europe CEO Simon Puleston Jones said: “We are delighted to welcome Christiane to the team at a time when the work agenda for commodities is becoming ever more busy. Her appointment will ensure that we can continue to deliver, and expand, our services in this important area for our membership.”
Chrisitiane is a dual qualified lawyer in Germany and England and Wales.
