FIA and FIA European Principal Traders Association have submitted a joint response to the UK Financial Conduct Authority’s AI Input Zone consultation seeking stakeholder views on current and future uses of artificial intelligence in UK financial services, barriers to adopting AI applications, and the regulatory framework governing the use of AI within financial markets.
The associations commend the joint Bank of England/FCA Public-Private Forum on AI and the creation of the Bank’s AI Consortium, launched to gather stakeholders' input and information. In the response, FIA and FIA EPTA caution against an overly prescriptive regulatory framework and reiterate that the framework should remain technology-neutral.
