CEO Simon Puleston Jones will be speaking in Brussels on 29 May at the European Commission’s public hearing on the EMIR review. The key questions to be asked by the European Commission on his panel - Clearing and Risk Mitigation Techniques - include “Are all in-scope counterparties ready for clearing? Are segregation options meeting client expectations? Is segregation a viable option from a cost perspective?”. The panel session will also cover the extent to which the risk mitigation techniques provisions in Article 11 of EMIR have helped to drive standardisation and reduce discrepancies/disputes between counterparties.
