FIA is proud to support the charitable activities of the industry and a number of charitable foundations around the globe. It is an important part of the organization's ethos to give something back to the community.
Among the charities we support are:
This charity provides a fundraising vehicle through which the listed and cleared derivatives industry can raise money to benefit charities working to improve the lives of children around the world. To date, FFK has raised over £2.25 million, distributed to a number of projects seeking to enhance the lives of disadvantaged children and young adults.
Charities supported by FFK to date include: Arts for All, Beyond Autism, Educaid, Every Child, HiCap, Hope HIV, Kids in Kathmandu, Princes Trust (Fairbridge), Whizz Kids and Young Epilepsy.
FFK raises funds through a range of events and is increasingly widely supported by individuals undertaking their own challenges, such as marathons and walks, in aid of the industry’s charity.
FIA has supported Futures For Kids through a number of events:
IDX Gala Dinner
FIA's IDX Gala Dinner is held each year in aid of Futures for Kids. During the evening, there is a raffle, plus live and silent auctions to raise funds. Prizes range from holidays and event tickets to artwork and sporting memorabilia, and are donated by the industry and other organisations connected to FIA.
Boca Golf Tournament
At Boca 2015, FIA held the first annual Futures for Kids Charity Golf Tournament supporting Futures for Kids. The tournament was designed to give back and we built some fun additions into the event to help raise money for this great foundation. A portion of the $295 fee went directly to the charity. The Boca 2016 Futures For Kids Charity Golf Tournament promises to be an equally successful event.
Clearing & Technology Dinner
This annual FIA dinner in London, which brings together over 350 guests from the futures industry's clearing, operations and technologies communities, provides another forum to raise funds for Futures for Kids. Individuals have the opportunity to take part in a raffle and other fund raising activities.
Greater Chicago Food Depository
The GCFD is Chicago’s food bank — a non-profit food distribution and training center that provides food for hungry people while striving to end hunger in the community.
The Food Depository, founded in 1979, makes a daily impact across Cook County with a network of 650 pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, mobile programs, children’s programs, older adult programs and innovative responses that address the root causes of hunger. In 2015, the Food Depository distributed 68 million pounds of shelf-stable food, fresh produce, dairy products and meat, the equivalent of 155,000 meals every day.
Great Chicago Steak Out
FIA organizes this annual event to coincide with the annual FIA Expo in Chicago held every fall. In the six years since this event was first held, the futures community has raised more than $2,000,000 benefiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
FIA puts a spotlight on the charitable efforts of members in our industry in each issue of MarketVoice, FIA's flagship publication. Each issue of MarketVoice includes a profile of a specific project or charitable group. Giving profiles also include information about how to support the charity.
