The Food Depository, founded in 1979, makes a daily impact across Cook County with a network of 650 pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, mobile programs, children’s programs, older adult programs and innovative responses that address the root causes of hunger. In 2015, the Food Depository distributed 68 million pounds of shelf-stable food, fresh produce, dairy products and meat, the equivalent of 155,000 meals every day.
Boca Golf Tournament
FIA began hosting the annual Futures for Kids Charity Golf Tournament supporting Futures for Kids in 2015. Conference participants enjoy 18 holes and lunch on the beautiful Boca Raton Resort and Club Resort Course, and a portion of the greens fee goes directly to the charity.
IDX Gala Dinner
FIA's IDX Gala Dinner is held each year in aid of Futures for Kids. During the evening, there is a raffle, plus live and silent auctions to raise funds. Prizes range from holidays and event tickets to artwork and sporting memorabilia, and are donated by the industry and other organizations connected to FIA.
A memorable aspect of the IDX Gala Dinner is the annual Kilt Challenge. Each year, an industry leader pledges to go bare-legged to the dinner in return for donations to Futures for Kids. Jeremy Grant founded the tradition in 2010, donning his finest kilt and then passing on the sporran to a new challenger each year.
FIA Cares Corporate Challenge
Since 2012, FIA has helped increase the annual donations to the Greater Chicago Food Depository through the FIA Cares Corporate Challenge. The Corporate Challenge kicks off a few weeks before the FIA’s annual Futures and Options Exposition and wraps up in early December. For the past two years, Rosenthal Collins Group from Chicago, IL has won the Corporate Challenge, which is recognized by the Golden Pig statue. To date, the Corporate Challenge has raised nearly $80,000 to help those in need.
Clearing & Technology Dinner
This annual FIA dinner in London brings together over 350 guests from the futures industry's clearing, operations and technologies communities each December, and provides another forum to raise funds for Futures for Kids. Individuals have the opportunity to take part in a raffle and other fund raising activities.
Great Chicago Steak Out
FIA organizes this annual event to coincide with the annual FIA Expo in Chicago held every fall. In the six years since this event was first held, the futures community has raised more than $2,000,000 benefiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
Asia Golf Tournament
Building on the success of the Boca Futures for Kids Charity Golf Tournament, FIA began hosting a Charity Golf Outing at the Singapore Island Country Club. Taking place on the hilly and deceptively easy Island Course, the FIA Derivatives Conference Charity Golf Outing is a 18-hole Scramble with a portion of the fees going directly to Futures for Kids.
