Representing Parties in Federal and State Cryptocurrency Investigations

part of the FIA Law & Compliance Division webinar series
11 October 2018 10:00am to 11:00am EDT

In this webinar, a panel of Sidley Austin LLP lawyers will discuss key issues that may arise in regulatory and criminal investigations concerning cryptocurrencies and initial coin offerings. These investigations may involve one or more authorities, including the CFTC, NFA, SEC, FINRA, Department of Justice, state securities regulators and individual exchanges, as well as international regulators. The subjects of the investigations may include CTAs, CPOs, FCMs, and cryptocurrency promotors and platforms, and allegations may range from fraud to retail customer abuse to manipulation, and insider trading. This webinar will explore the varied forms of cryptocurrency investigations and their unique elements with an eye toward helping market participants identify conduct that may risk triggering an investigation and navigate investigations that are initiated.

Presenters: Geoffrey Aronow, Michael Levy, Michael Sackheim and Timothy J. Treanor of Sidley Austin LLP
