Allison Lurton is Senior Vice President and General Counsel at the FIA. She came to the FIA in early 2013 from the law firm of Covington & Burling LLP, where she was Of Counsel in the Washington, D.C. office. While at Covington she advised a wide range of clients, including financial institutions, energy firms and pension funds, on the regulatory reforms implemented as a result of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Prior to joining Covington in 2010, she spent seven years at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, serving as Chief Trial Attorney in the CFTC’s enforcement division and Counsel to CFTC Commissioner O’Malia and Chairmen Lukken, Dunn and Gensler on a wide range of CFTC policy and regulatory matters. She graduated from the Washington University School of Law with a J.D. in 1995 and Vanderbilt University and is admitted to the bar in the District of Columbia and Virginia.
