Volume by Year

The ETD Tracker provides insights on trends in the trading of futures and options on exchanges worldwide. The ETD Tracker consists of interactive visualizations that allow users to view data on volume and open interest, with filters based on year and month, region and jurisdiction, asset group and type of product.

ACCESS ETD TRACKER

To help provide greater transparency into the financial condition of futures commission merchants operating in the U.S., FIA has created a series of interactive visualizations based on data published by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission on a monthly basis.

Customer Seg Funds in Futures Accounts and FCM Count over Time

This visualization shows the amount of customer funds in futures accounts held by futures commission merchants in the U.S. as well as the total number of FCMs that are holding those funds.

* Count excludes FCMs that have zero customer funds and does not consolidate affiliated FCMs.

ACCESS FCM TRACKER

The CCP Tracker is designed to provide greater transparency into the amount of risk in the global clearing system and the financial resources available to protect the system from losses. Using the public quantitative disclosures published by derivatives clearinghouses on a quarterly basis, the CCP Tracker contains a set of charts and tables that allow users to compare several key metrics for each quarter going back to the second half of 2015.

ACCESS CCP TRACKER

In 2014 FIA began collecting volume data from swap execution facilities, a type of trading venue created by the Dodd-Frank Act for over-the-counter derivatives. To provide the public with a greater transparency into the trading activity on these venues, FIA publishes data on volume and market share trends for interest rate, credit and foreign exchange products traded on SEFs. These data are accessible through a series of interactive online visualizations that allow users to display the data in charts and tables and filter the data in various ways.
